Golf Just Got Louder—and That’s a Good Thing

Golf has long been known for its tradition, etiquette, and serene quietness—until now. In recent years, there’s been a shift in the culture of the sport, especially among younger players and social leagues. One of the most notable changes? Music. Whether it’s a curated playlist over a Bluetooth speaker or a live band playing near the clubhouse, music is adding an exciting new rhythm to the game. From improving focus to enhancing social energy, the impact of music on the course goes far beyond just background noise.

Golf is evolving, and at CLUB9, we’re not just following the change; we’re leading it. Gone are the days when the only sounds on the course were birds chirping and the occasional “Fore!” echoing down the fairway. Today’s golfers want more than a score—they want an experience. That’s why music is at the heart of what we do at CLUB9, turning a traditional round of golf into something unforgettable.

From playlists pumping through golf carts to live bands setting the mood as the sun sets, music isn’t just a fun     extra—it’s a core part of our mission: making golf more exciting, more social, and way more fun.

Let’s dive into how music is transforming the game, the benefits it brings, and how CLUB9 is taking it to the next level.

Changing the Vibe

Let’s be honest: golf can sometimes feel intimidating or overly formal, especially for younger or casual players. That’s where music comes in. It brings energy, personality, and approachability to the course. With the right soundtrack, a round of golf becomes more than just a game, it builds the experience.

Imagine cruising down the fairway with your group, tunes playing from a cart speaker, the sun shining, and a transfusion in your hand—just good vibes and good company. That’s the environment that many modern golfers crave. It’s not about shooting under par; it’s about enjoying the day and making memories.

About ready to hit your ball at the group in front of you? Music also helps fill the gaps between shots, especially in slower rounds. Instead of standing in silence waiting for the group ahead, music keeps spirits high and conversations flowing. It bridges the time between holes with rhythm and excitement.

One of the most beautiful things about adding music to golf is how it breaks down barriers. Some people find golf intimidating, especially if they didn’t grow up playing. But throw on a playlist or host a concert on the driving range, and suddenly, the game becomes more inclusive, more welcoming.

At CLUB9, we’re building a community around shared moments, not just shared scorecards. Whether you shoot a 72 or a 112, you’re still dancing, laughing, and sipping under the same beat.

Live Music: The Next Level of Course Culture

While magneted Bluetooth speakers and playlists are cool and all, nothing compares to the atmosphere that live music brings to a golf course. Hosting live bands or DJs at tournaments, scrambles, or even regular weekend play can turn a standard round into a mini-festival.

We envision finishing the front nine and walking up to a food tent with a local band playing acoustic covers under the shade of a tent. You grab a drink, listen to a song, and head back to the back nine with an extra pep in your step. That’s more than golf—it’s entertainment.

Events like these foster community. They give golfers something to look forward to beyond the game itself. People stay after their rounds, mingle, share stories, and enjoy the music together. It helps build loyalty, excitement, and a modern golf culture where fun is just as important as fairways hit.

Of course, there’s a balance to be struck. Not every player wants music blasting on the tee box, and respect for other groups is still part of good golf etiquette. The key is to keep the volume at a level where it enhances your group’s experience without interfering with others. Many courses are now developing music-friendly policies to accommodate the growing trend while maintaining a welcoming environment for all players.

Music as a Performance Booster

For years, athletes in various sports have used music to get into the zone. Golf, often considered more mental than physical, is no exception. Listening to music while playing golf can help players relax, manage stress, and maintain a steady pace throughout the round. The right playlist can even regulate breathing and heart rate—critical components when standing over a nerve-wracking putt or lining up a drive on a tight fairway.

Studies have shown that listening to music while playing sports—including golf—can reduce anxiety, boost mood, and even improve performance. It helps regulate breathing, eases tension, and can get you into that all-important flow state. In golf, where the mental game is often tougher than the physical one, staying loose and focused is everything.

Benefits of Music on the Course:

– Improved Concentration

– Lower Heart Rate

– Reduced Nerves

– Establish a Rythym

– More Relaxed & Social

Think about your favorite pump-up song before a big shot, or a chill vibe to cruise through the back nine, it makes a difference.

CLUB9 Meets Good Time

At CLUB9, we believe golf should be fun first, and that starts with creating an environment where players can relax, vibe out, and enjoy the experience—not just the score.

Music is a major part of what makes a CLUB9 event different. Whether you’re playing in one of our signature tournaments or just coming out for nine holes with friends, we’re setting the tone for a day you’ll want to replay.

Kings Crossing Golf Club

Every Friday night during the summer, Kings Crossing Golf Club transforms into a live music venue—on the course.

Local artists set up near the clubhouse and play everything from acoustic classics to feel-good hits that get the crowd swaying under the stars (if you don’t believe me, come see Jury this summer). Whether you’re finishing your round, grabbing a drink, or just hanging out with friends, there’s no better way to start the weekend than Live at the King.

Picture this: You sink your birdie putt on nine with the smell of good barbeque in the air. You get back to the clubhouse to grab a cold CLUB9 Transfusion as the band starts to play during sunset hour. It’s the simple things that hint at a golfer’s soul. That’s where we bring out the equation:

Golf + Vibes = CLUB9

Bristol Golf Park

Then there’s Bristol Golf Park, where the course has a club-like atmosphere with glow-and-the-dark golf hosted by a DJ.

Once a month, we host our Glow Golf Party, complete with glowing balls, neon course markers, and a live DJ spinning tracks under the stars. It’s a full-blown party on the fairways—with enough fun to make you forget you’re technically still playing golf.

These nights bring out the best of the CLUB9 community: young golfers, friend groups, date nights, and social players who love the game but love the energy even more.

If you haven’t danced on the 9th tee under the stars while waiting for your turn to tee off, are you even living?

Meet Us There

Music has changed the way we experience the world—and now it’s changing golf. At CLUB9, we’re proud to be at the front of that movement, creating a culture where golf is fresh, fun, and full of energy.

Whether it’s a DJ under the stars at Bristol, an acoustic Friday night at Kings Crossing, or a playlist bumping as you roll down the fairway, music is turning every round into something special.

So next time you grab your clubs, don’t forget your speaker. This isn’t your granddad’s golf club—it’s CLUB9, and we’re turning the volume up.

Ready to experience it for yourself? Come out to a CLUB9 event this season, bring your friends, and discover how good golf can feel when the music hits just right.
